President meets Vilimale residents

President Muizzu announced 300 three-bedroom housing units in Villimalé will be exclusively for residents, with construction starting this year. Hulhumalé Hospital will be upgraded to a tertiary facility, with measures to mitigate service disruptions during the transition. Villimalé's roads will be modernized alongside upgrades to electricity, water, and sewerage networks. A new multi-sports complex will be built in Villimalé in the coming year, along with the installation of a US dollar ATM. The developmental works in Villimalé will prioritize safeguarding the island’s natural greenery and environment. The current Masjid Al-Salaam will be redeveloped into a modern mosque. President Muizzu directed the removal of two aging trees on the island in response to residents' concerns. The community proposed managing Villimalé's development projects under a dedicated corporation and requested improvements to transport and the establishment of a fish market. President Muizzu affirmed his commitment to addressing Villimalé's long-standing needs and delivering new developmental goals.
